Lockheed Martin Production Operations Sr. Manager- RF Sensor Manufacturing in Grand Prairie, Texas

Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is seeking a Production Operations lead for the RF Sensor Center of Excellence. Lockheed Martin has centralized the development of RF sensors and this lead will be required to manage all program aspects related to Production Operations / manufacturing for RF Sensors, with an emphasis on design for producibility and positioning the product for full life cycle success. The Prod-ops lead’s primary mission is to lead and drive the achievement of the most producible solutions for the customers and to deliver scalable manufacturing solutions to future production teams and Lines of Business.

This role consists of managing and leading the RF Sensor program production scope, as well as production activities, including cost, schedule, and quality, for multiple manufacturing sites, engineering labs, IRAD efforts, and multiple external suppliers.

Additional responsibilities include:

The RF Sensor Center of Excellence is a cross-BA effort and the RF Sensor Prod-ops lead will be required to partner with the Prod-ops leads from the other BAs on RF Sensor development.

The RF Sensor Prod-ops lead will be required to lead the team of manufacturing engineers, PP&C, industrial engineers, and AMT personnel to execute strategy and tactics.

The RF Sensor Prod-ops lead will have also have the responsibility for:

Ensuring that manufacturability is fully considered in the design/development process including development of manufacturing techniques related to complex RF hardware manufacturing

Establishing and implementing manufacturing transition plans

Supporting reviews of engineering, manufacturing processes, shipping approaches, etc., associated with design for manufacturability to meet current and future needs of the program

Supporting all aspects of quality to ensure the product meets its engineering requirements with repeatability in mind

Leading specific projects associated with production preparation

Leading rate / capacity planning for internal and supplier production requirements

Oversight of schedule, cost, and quality for production activities

Management of program make / buy process

Providing input / reviews of production related topics (Internal manufacturing) during proposal generation

Supplementing the Manufacturing Engineering Team in support of early hardware process development

Presenting Production Operations content at various internal and external reviews

The role requires<25% travel, primarily to suppliers or other Lockheed Martin Sites.

The ideal location for the position is Grand Prairie, TX or Orlando, FL but other LM locations may be considered.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in related discipline

-A broad base of knowledge regarding electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical production

-Previous operations leadership experience in a production environment required

-Experience with product manufacturability and design for cost

-Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including to non-technical personnel

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Demonstrated skills in team building and leading through influence

-Ability to obtain a "Secret" security clearance; an Interim Secret clearance is required prior to starting the role

Desired Skills:

-Experience with the design and manufacturing of RF hardware

-Experience with RF microelectronics manufacturing

-Experience with RF Sensor test and calibration

-Related professional level career experience in production operations

-Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

-Production Operations leadership experience

-Experience in program development with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and leadership

-Experience in capacity & capital planning

-Understanding and wide application of assembly and test methods

-First Unit Flow planning & execution

-Statement of work and proposal development experience

-Experience with Make-Buy generation and strategy

-Experience in the design of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining and material handling

-Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) knowledge/experience

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
