This Golden Valley, Minnesota area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. You might be a good fit for this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. If you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, this role might be right for you. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred.

Major responsibilities

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

• In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

• Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

• Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Less than one year of experience

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Annual External Audit experience preferred

• Experience with Fixed Asset Accounting

• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting

• Strong familiarity with month end closings

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Experience with ERP systems

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases
