Produce Services of America, Inc Deputy Managing Director in Gloucester City, New Jersey

Deputy Managing Director (Produce Services of America, Inc; Gloucester City, NJ): Duties and responsibilities: Assist the Managing Director in developing and implementing strategic quality control plans and initiatives to support growth objectives in fresh produce distribution, maximizing productivity and minimizing costs; Collaborate with the Managing Director on management of the day-to-day quality control operations of each office, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures; Supervise and lead managers engaged in inspection and expediting activities to ensure effective and efficient performance of their responsibilities, as well as high technical integrity; Provide guidance to managers on formulating, documenting, and maintaining quality control standards and delivering quality control information to customers; Provide oversight on the end-to-end quality management inspection systems in place, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations; Serve as a high-level representative of the business with exporters and importers to ensure quality control concerns are escalated and resolved; Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry associations; Participate in the hiring process, along with the Managing Director and delegating this authority to other managers; Engage in research and pursue possibilities of a new branch office or offices in Asia; and Engage in periodic domestic and international travel to oversee new projects or serve as a company representative to customers. 15-25% international and domestic travel required to client sites and other Produce Service America (PSA) locations.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign/functional equivalent in Agriculture or a related field, and 5 years of experience as Quality Control Engineer or any occupation in which experience in operations and quality control management within the fresh produce industry is gained.Must have: Demonstrated understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, legal standards, and best practices for fresh produce; Demonstrated understanding of quality control testing, analysis, and documentation; Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing quality control safety programs, plans, and systems; Demonstrated knowledge of international production and distribution chain of fresh produce; Demonstrated skills in multitasking and working toward multiple deadlines.(Unless otherwise indicated, employer is seeking the ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years of experience required.
