A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

In this role you will identify the primary drivers (business, regulatory) for certification and manage security certification programs from start to finish.

You will be the direct interface with the evaluation laboratory and the Certification Body. You will be responsible for providing on time all the evidence and material required for the certification. You will work directly with all the stakeholders internally (engineering and corporate teams) to convey the requirement and ensure they are met. You will drive internal improvements and take decisions as needed to achieve success. Within the Security Assurance team you will have the support from security experts and a red team to help you achieve your objectives.

The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.

  • Communicate program goals, progress, and health to program stakeholders in a manner tailored to their interests and concerns at all levels, and to drive understanding and inform decisions (including certification plans, status reports, decision logs and meeting notes.)

  • Assess engineering problems, understand the interplay between certification requirements and functional requirements, and contribute to shaping technical directions (including technical analysis (e.g. defect analysis), engineering review presentations, and technical roadmaps and white papers).

  • Establish systems to identify improvements and drive future needs around security certification. Artifacts include metric plans (e.g., leading and trailing KPIs), dashboards, trend analysis, control charts, and retrospectives.

  • Organize and manage security certification activities. Monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigations (including governance plans, project trackers, status reports, OKRs, retrospectives, and escalation reports).
