Actalent R&d Engineer in Garden Grove, California

Description:

This is a Research & Development (R&D) Engineering position working as a part of the R&D Team developing, designing, and testing new materials or formulations. This will also include customer specific projects where testing on our in-house equipment is needed. All proper data and documentation will be completed and tracked by entering orders into our system and maintaining documentation on our network drives. 1) Product Development 2) Mechanical Design & Testing, 3) Engineering Support 4) Material Research & Cataloguing. This will include generating R&D reports and developing new materials and new urethane casting techniques. This will also include testing materials on our test machines and working specifically with the Sales Team to do project testing and failure analysis on failed wheels. This position also requires understanding of engineering principles and to be able to understand a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science, Engineering or equivalent 3-5 years within a mechanical/chemical engineering role Experience within a R&D environment SolidWorks Must be able to read and understand blueprints/drawings Good computer skills (Office, Word, Excel, Access) Well versed in Engineering Principles, in particular Chemical (in particular polyurethane) properties including production techniques and chemical understanding
