Meta Engineering Program Manager in Fremont, California

Summary:

Meta is seeking an Engineering Program Manager, Technical Operations to join our Data Center Engineering and Construction (DEC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure operates, and our innovative services are delivered as we continue our mission to build community and bring the world closer together. The program enables the difficult design and decisions supporting the complex intersections of technical domains. Ultimately, this role focuses on Meta’s engineering expertise to bring complex technical and cross-functional problems from definition through design to produce executable engineering packages through ideation in R&D to implementation into detailed building plans. This requires technical understanding of the building with a focus on electrical components and systems while also driving results with stakeholders across Infrastructure. Finally, this person will be a motived self-starter taking charge of initiatives and be a forward thinker with a keen business sense.

Required Skills:

Engineering Program Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Manage highly-complex, cross-functional electrical component research and development projects from concept through to completion.

  2. Drive complex problem statement development and create milestone schedules that end in decisions and implementation.

  3. Interface with Engineering, Facilities, Electrical/Mechanical Engineers, Construction, Network, Cabling, Security and business owners for project requirements and scope.

  4. Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, and testing phases.

  5. Digest technical drawings, questioning the inputs of the engineers across multiple highly technical engineering departments and helping to bring all of it together into a cohesive executable package.

  6. Manage dependencies and handoffs effectively and optimize schedules accordingly.

  7. Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.

  8. Conduct business process re-engineering reviews to innovate on business processes and define ways to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.

  9. Drive continual improvement of productivity.

  10. Identify areas of risk and drive solution with subject matter experts within the organization.

  11. Lead training and education programs for internal and external partners.

  12. Report and drive alignment and decisions from leadership across multiple organizations.

  13. Travel to offices, vendors, and datacenter sites as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record driving results on complex problems with many stakeholders.

  2. Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  3. Large scale critical infrastructure, Research and Development, and/or data center experience.

  4. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  5. Experience building relationships and driving collaboration from cross-functional teams.

  6. 7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management/Project Management.

  7. Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience.

  8. Understanding of Engineering details and the impacts of change across multiple disciplines.

  2. Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional teams.

  3. Experience with managing projects related to data center design, hardware design and capacity management.

  4. Knowledge of design, construction, network, hardware, capacity management.

  5. Experience adapting and learning new skill sets quickly.

  6. Global design experience.

Public Compensation:

$157,000/year to $218,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
