    Rehabilitation Technician/ Aide J ob Description:

    As a Rehabilitation Technician at our facility, you will play a crucial role in supporting the seamless delivery of rehabilitation services. This position requires a dedicated individual who can manage multiple responsibilities ranging from patient transport and equipment management to assisting therapists during treatment sessions. The ideal candidate will bring technical skill, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to the rehabilitation process, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care in a safe and supportive environment.

    Rehabilitation Technician/ Aide Responsibilities :

  • Patient Transport: Safely transport patients according to the daily schedule, ensuring punctuality and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Equipment Preparation: Set up and aftercare of therapy equipment as directed by therapists, maintaining operational readiness and hygiene standards.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and record the upkeep of therapy equipment, including specialized devices like hydrocollators—ensuring proper water levels and temperatures are maintained and recorded as per policy.

  • Therapeutic Aide: Support therapists during patient ambulation, exercises, and activities, employing proper safety measures and assisting with positioning devices like wheelchairs.

  • Documentation Management: File and manage both digital and physical documentation, ensuring all paperwork, including physician authorizations/signatures, is accurately processed and compliant with regulatory standards. Upload soft files in EMR; PCC, Net Health/Innova Health. Run reports related to Rehab and nursing operations and assist with department collaboration with inter disciplinary team ( IDT).

  • Supply Management: Daily restock of necessary supplies such as linens, towels, gloves, tissues, disinfectant wipes, and hand sanitizer, and other EBP supplies.

  • Clerical Support: Undertake all assigned clerical duties, including the distribution of therapy schedules and maintaining orderly therapy spaces. Ability to assist with updating schedules when needed.

  • Quality Control: Conduct weekly chart audits and report findings to the DOR to ensure compliance and improve service quality.

  • I nterdepartmental Coordination: Liaise with various departments to collect and disseminate documents required for therapy sessions. GG collection and communication between department heads when needed.

  • Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional demeanor and positive work atmosphere by effectively communicating with patients, clients, and colleagues, fostering beneficial relationships.

    Rehabilitation Technician/ Aide Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; additional certification from a CNA program required in mandatory states.

  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Proficient with Healthcare EMRs/EHRs; familiarity with PCC, Net Health, and Innova Health a plus.

  • Ability to learn new software and clinical programs rapidly. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, with a willingness to learn new software and clinical programs. Physical Demands:

  • Must be capable of lifting and transferring patients as needed.

  • Should demonstrate effective body mechanics during patient interactions to prevent personal injury and ensure patient safety.
