Development and Intellectual Disabilities Services (DDA){rel="noopener" target="blank"}at Sheppard Pratt offers programs devoted to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including residential rehabilitation. TheSojourn Residential Program{rel="noopener" target="blank"}team provides integrated rehabilitation to individuals who have both mental illness and an intellectual disability.
What to expect.
This is a direct care opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment. You willprovide a safe and therapeutic environmentthat facilitates the overall independence and wellbeing of your clients. Pay rate: $18/hr.
Under close supervision, your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in theinitial assessment, intervention, and re-evaluation of client needs.
- Working one-on-one with clientsto learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
- Coordinating comprehensive care to assigned clients, including monitoring clientscompliance with medication.
Providing transportation and attending clients medical appointments.
As you spend time with your clients, you will find yourself developing a rapport with them whereyou become part of their trusted support system. You will see their wins as your wins as they work their way through the program and cheer them on as they progress in their recovery!
**Direct care staff will bethoroughly trainedto provide all services and should expect supportive and ever-present mentorship from senior staff members.

What we need from you.
- Your high school diploma or a GED. Bachelors degree in a related field is preferred.
- The willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
- A drivers license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
