DESCRIPTION Activities Assistant Come work join us at Carmel Terrace! A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Assisted Living facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. Located on lush, manicured lawns and gardens in Framingham, MA, we are just minutes from Route 9 for easy access to the Mass Pike. We are seeking to fill the position of Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment for the Assisted Living Community - WEEKENDS ONLY. WEEKENDS ONLY \$15.50 per hour Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Qualifications: High school graduate with some college course work in therapeutic recreation or gerontology preferred. Knowledge of arts and crafts. Recent experience in recreation; preferably in a geriatric setting. Must be able to speak, write and understand English. Working conditions consist of bending, standing, sitting, lifting and moving intermittently during working hours. Subject to long periods of standing. Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds. Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Job Summary: Assist in planning, organizing and implementing the activities programs of the facility. Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information. Assist the Activity Director with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident. Review and report on resident assessments. Develop and maintain a good rapport with all the services involved with the care plan. Encourage social communication among residents through group activities and recreation. Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts; provide materials as necessary.
