WATTS Maintenance Mechanic B in Fort Worth, Texas
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment and facility. Performs all other duties as required.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Troubleshoots, rebuilds, repairs or replaces equipment.
Handles system and/or equipment element installations.
Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Assists the production process by acquiring items needed to ensure the assembly process is continuous for time sensitive orders.
Carries out a variety of work in the maintenance of the buildings.
Conducts forklift and powered industrial truck training and licensing bi-monthly.
Supports recycling or trash pickup as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School or equivalent and technical training in electrical and mechanical areas.
MANAGEMENT:
This position has no direct reports
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Four (4+) years of experience in a variety of maintenance and mechanical repair.
Ability to work in a face-paced environment
Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of public buildings and machinery.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skill in reading and following blueprints and assembly instructions.
Skill in using hand and power tools.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Must be multi-task oriented and able to work on several ongoing projects simultaneously.
Ability to be flexible, persist, self-motivated and display an effort to continually improve performance.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Consistently involves walking, standing, bending at the neck and waist, simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, reaching above and below the shoulder, lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. Frequently involves squatting, climbing, twisting at the waist, pushing and pulling, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Occasionally involves sitting, kneeling, crawling, twisting at the neck, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Involves driving cars, trucks and/or forklift, working around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures/humidity, dust, gas, fumes or chemicals, working at heights, and requires the utilization of protective equipment as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position also required the ability to follow safety procedures including: PPE (Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes), Potential Hazards - Bending and Ergonomics - Follow correct lifting procedures.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. When in the shop environment, conditions vary based on the area and project.
