Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Supports the HCA Code of Conduct. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organization mission and goals.

  • Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.

  • Supports hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals.

  • Administrative preparation and achievement of operational and capital budgets.

  • Assures quality care through compliance with departmental, hospital and external regulatory agency policies.

  • Communicates upward and downward regularly to assure knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, financial position, healthcare environment changes, system improvements needed, etc., to administrative officers and staff employees.

  • Administers and communicates human resources policies to employees in proactive, equitable and supportive manner.

  • Assists and cooperates with other directors to fulfill the mission of the hospital and the corporation.

  • Accepts responsibility for personal growth and development by participating in internal/external activities.

  • Maintains clinical/managerial competency by participating in meetings and in-services.

  • Oversees and directs all Medical Staff Office functions to ensure compliance with all JCAHO standards, Medical Staff Bylaws and any other applicable policies.

  • Oversees and directs all day-to-day administrative functions of residency training programs to ensure compliance with all JCAHO standards, AOA training guidelines and any other applicable policies.

  • Directs communication between hospital, medical staff leadership and/or hospital departments to the medical staff members related to department responsibility or quality improvement.

  • Coordinates special Medical Staff Events with Administration and Marketing.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the credentialing process for all physicians and allied health staff is handled in a timely manner by the Medical Staff Office.

  • Ensures that cost reporting documentation for the residency training programs is complete and timely.

  • Monitors rotations schedules, logs, continuing medical education activities, didactics, research, payroll, and evaluations for all interns and residents.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.

  • Experience in management and supervision.

  • Understanding of medical terminology and medical staff functions.

  • Computer knowledge.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

  • Current Medical Staff Coordinator Certification.
