Responsibilities This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedure requirements than positions in restaurant, cafe or bar. Performance is observed to ensure compliance of instructions/procedures. Receives close supervision and guidance. Performs routine duties of servicing banquets either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders. Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages. Follows simple oral and written instruction using understanding of sanitary food and beverage handling techniques, and food preparation methods. Complies with proper procedures, methods, dress and hygiene codes. Work primarily indoors possibly on wet or polished floors. May occasionally work outdoors. Will stand, walk, stoop and stretch for long periods of time, handling food and beverage trays, seldom weighing more than 40 pounds. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must meet the state/local age requirement (18) for the serving of alcoholic beverages. No prior training or work experience required. Assumptions will not be made regarding your experience and the duties performed * HIGHLY PREFERRED: Possess experience in food service- preferably in catering or banquets. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
