Kids in Distress is looking to hire aMaintenance Specialistfor supporting the program services initiatives of the agency and for ensuring the safety, security, functionality and aesthetics of the KID/FCI campus through the performance of routine, safety, preventative and requested maintenance tasks.

As aMaintenance Specialistyou will also be responsible for building and grounds maintenance of a five acre facility and offsite property, as part of a team; you will also be an instrumental participant in the Holiday Donation Drive and the Disaster Management Team.

In addition, you will receive aSIGN-ON INCENTIVE OF 40 HOURS OF VACATION TIME OFF AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF YOUR 90 DAYS PROBATIONARY PERIOD, TO BE TAKEN WITHIN YOUR FIRST YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT.

Thedesired candidate must be able to workindependently and in a team setting to accomplish tasks, adhering to assigned work schedule, willingness to learn new skills, task oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and prioritize tasks, and have a strong work ethic. Good command of the English language (written and oral) and the ability to interact with vendors, donors, and coworkers in a professional manner are required.

Skills / Requirements

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent andminimum of one (1) year of experience in general maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or general construction preferred.
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 7:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or carry equipment and items that may weigh up to 50 lbs. and must have the ability to work within a team.
• Must be self-motivated with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English language; and ability to interact with coworkers and clients in a professional mannerare required.
• Valid Florida driver's license and proof of auto insurance requiredto drive agency vehicles to perform duties at off-site locations, for supply pick up, and for assisting with vehicle pick up and drop off at mechanic shops.
