Description of Work Unit

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Department of Clinical Sciences mission is to assure the health and productivity of animals to meet societal needs through high quality educational programs for professional veterinary medical students, graduate veterinarians, and the public through a faculty and veterinary medical center of excellence, and to advance and disseminate comparative biomedical knowledge in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Summary

Research Scientist/Scholar I, II, III or Sr. Research Scientist/Scholar positions are available in the Department of Clinical Sciences, in the area(s) of virtual reality, animal health, infectious disease, soft-tissue, cancer, orthopedics, specialties, and reproduction. These positions include interaction with the Principal Investigator as well as other research assistants. The individual will be part of a team of researchers completing a federally funded research project and will have a broad range of responsibilities.

The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. by date of hire; the Clinical Sciences department will not provide visa sponsorship for these positions.

Required Job Qualifications

A Ph.D. is required for all levels.

  • Level Iis for individuals generally within three years of receiving their Ph.D. and with significant professional accomplishments.

  • Level IIis analogous to the Assistant Professor title for regular faculty. It generally includes people with three to seven years of experience beyond the Ph.D. and very significant professional accomplishments.

  • Level III is analogous to the Associate Professor title for regular faculty. It generally includes individuals with more than seven years of experience beyond the Ph.D. level and with very significant professional accomplishments.

  • The Senior levelis analogous to the full Professor title for regular faculty. It generally includes individuals well beyond the Ph.D. level that have demonstrated outstanding, sustained, and extraordinary professional accomplishments, as well as professional leadership.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Candidates with knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields are preferred: animal health, infectious disease, soft-tissue, cancer, orthopedics, specialties, and reproduction.
