Boart Longyear Customer Service Representative in Forrestfield, Australia

Job Description:

Boart Longyear’s Products Division is a leading provider of drilling equipment and performance tooling for mining and drilling companies globally. Our range of highly productive drill rigs and tooling is suited to a variety of applications including, mining, mineral exploration, energy and environmental sampling.

The primary purpose of the Customer Service Representative is to support the sale of our globally manufactured items to our APAC customer base to ensure their requirements are understood and delivery commitments are met.

Want to know a little more about the role? Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Proactively manage orders including quoting, bookings, back orders, data entry Managing leads

  • Provide customer service by answering customer queries, processing their sales in a timely fashion, and answering queries promptly and accurately

  • Executing telephone sales

  • Manage and process claims assessments and Return of Material Authorization (RMA)

  • Support Managers with sales and administrative activities

  • Drive transactional sales

  • Implement direct marketing activities as instructed by Business Development Managers

  • Oversee delivery and troubleshooting of products

  • Build ongoing relationships with existing customers

  • Undertaking administrative tasks

  • Assist with inventory functions, stock control and inventory management.

A few other things we’re looking for:

  • Our preferred candidate will have 2 years of experience within a similar role

  • Focus on customer service excellence with internal and external clients

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Excellent Listening and Questioning Skills

  • Ability to prioritise objectives and responsibilities

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel

  • Previous experience in using Oracle (desirable, not essential)

  • Previous experience working in a customer service or customer facing role in a relevant industry (e.g. drilling, mining, construction, etc.)

  • Sound planning and organisational skills

  • A team-focused attitude

  • Excellent analytical skills, technically savvy
