As a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff or Director in AI Memory Prototyping, you will lead and be responsible for the development of systems prototypes for novel, tightly-coupled memory systems optimized for AI workloads. You will be part of a growing team of domain experts across platforms, systems architecture, component architecture, design, and advanced packaging. You and your team will build prototype architectures and platforms, which integrate SoCs, FPGAs, and systems software. You will play an important role in bringing up, demonstrating, and evaluating heterogeneous systems. We encourage collaboration with technical partners across multiple domains in our effort to build the best memory systems in the world.

Our Expectations:

  • Extensive technical leadership experience in prototyping memory systems or SoCs.

  • FPGA architecture and design experience with either Altera or Xilinx FPGAs, including PCIe interfaces, Linux driver development, application development.

  • Demonstrated experience with FPGA synthesis, place and route, and timing optimizations with bring-up, debug, and validation responsibilities.

  • Strong expertise in hardware description languages, like VHDL and SystemVerilog.

  • Experience with multiple systems programming languages, including C/C++ and/or Rust.

  • Strong understanding of and experience with simulation and verification flows for FPGAs and associated drivers/software.

  • Ability to influence decisions through data-driven systems analysis.

What sets you apart:

  • High-level HDL experience, including Chisel, Bluespec, high-level synthesis (HLS), etc.

  • Scripting experience, especially for FPGA / SoC flows.

  • Experience managing sophisticated platform and board design projects, including an ability to bring up and debug new board and platform designs.

  • A history of leading multi-functional characterization efforts.

  • Experience with interconnect technologies and logical protocols: Transceivers, UCIe, and HBM.

  • Memory systems experience.

  • People leadership and project management experience.

How to Qualify:

  • A Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of proven experience.

  • A track record of sustained innovation.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$203,000.00 - $409,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
