DOCUMENT CONTROLLER

We’re looking for the immediate hire of a Document Controller. The Controller will collect, maintain, and distribute all documents necessary to define project configuration and control construction progress that ensures conformance to client requirements. This includes maintaining a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the document control center; managing the operation of the document control center to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation promptly; and performing a variety of design and drafting activities.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for populating and maintaining document database/logs including Requests for Information (RFI), Shop Drawing Submittals, Change Orders, general project correspondence, etc.

  • Responsible for distributing and tracking document submissions/approvals to ensure that they are reviewed promptly to maintain the project schedule.

  • Responsible for generating transmittals, filing, sending out, and receiving documents in both electronic and hardcopy formats.

  • Strong organizational skills are a must.

  • Strong communication skills are a must.

  • AutoCad Skills required as project drawings may need to be opened, printed, converted to other formats, etc.

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) skills required.

  • Experience (2 to 5 years) in the construction and/or architectural industry performing the above-mentioned tasks, is a plus

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Prefer a BS in Civil Engineering or other related field. mum qualifications.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have a basic understanding of construction drawings

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, Geopak is a plus

  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong ability to work in a small team environment

  • Must possess top organizational skills needed for detailed filing and record-keeping

  • Bi-lingual, proficient in both the English and Spanish languages is a plus
