Job Description
SUMMARY
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs Daily material handling equipment checks prior to operating to ensure a safe operating condition
Looks for visual queues/ follows verbal instructions for materials to move
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or using material handling equipment
Operate at the defined standard pace and record activities against standard
Scan all materials as required to record inventory movements in the system
Maintain good housekeeping by following 5S principles
Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner
Adhere to all safety guidelines including defined walkways, aisle ways and stop signs
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
Follow FIFO standards
Change batteries in material handling equipment as required
Report any shortage or overstock concerns to supervisor or Scheduler/Expeditor
Remove trash, recyclable and scrap material as required
Forklift Operators must successfully complete training program and will be provided a license indicating eligibility to operate a stand-up or sit-down forklift.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One to five years experience in manufacturing and/or assembly operations
