This job posting will be used to fill one (1) intermittent/PRN/casual vacancy at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Fergus Falls. An intermittent employee works an irregular and uncertain schedule as the needs of the agency require. Intermittent employees must be available to work all three shifts and some weekends. Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Evening shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm, Night shift: 10:00pm-6:30am.

Current State of Minnesota employees will not be considered for concurrent appointments at this time due to overtime considerations and the irregular work schedule requirements of this position.

Deliver licensed practical nursing care within the LPN scope of practice, as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, for residents. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to promote the well-being, health and safety of residents in a person-centered, long-term care environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse, in good standing

  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and take legible notes

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a long-term care environment

  • Experience working with Veterans

Additional Requirements

This position requires successful completion of the following:

  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.

  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
