Kelly® Engineering is seeking a skilled Service Technician for a direct-hire position with a leading provider of wheel and tire assembly and test systems for OEMs and Tier suppliers in Farmington Hills, MI! Overview

This client is a worldwide leader in the integration of wheel and tire assembly and test systems. They are a premiere supplier for our clients in the auto industry, specializing in system solutions for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

The Service Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining production and ensuring the quality of operations by overseeing machinery and equipment functions. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including service and customer support, installation, start-up, training, and service of OEM automation equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary service and support to customers

  • Perform installation, start-up, training, and service of OEM automation equipment

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine effective solutions

  • Execute assigned duties and responsibilities with precision

  • Adhere to customer procedures and protocols

  • Develop and nurture positive relationships with customers

  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and policies

Qualifications:

  • Automotive Technology degree, technical or automotive certification, or equivalent education required

  • Minimum of two years of technical experience or equivalent industry experience

  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics and programmable logic controllers (PLC)

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical components and machines

  • Well-versed in machine controls with a strong mechanical aptitude

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint), Outlook

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport

  • Motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills

  • Clear and effective communication abilities

  • Adherence to all company policies as communicated

  • Flexible work shift availability

  • Commitment to wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

  • Ability to travel up to 70-80% (domestic with some international)

Work Conditions:

This position operates in an office and plant environment, utilizing standard office equipment and various machines.

Physical Requirements:

The position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs.
