Eaton Corporation Certified Precision CNC Machinist - Grind (2nd shift) in Euclid, Ohio

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Certified Precision CNC Machinist - Grind (2nd shift).

The hourly rate for this position is $33.09 per hour. The hours for second shift are as follows; 3:30 pm - 12:00 am.

What you’ll do:

The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group has an opening for a Certified Precision CNC Machinist. This position is based in Euclid, OH.

The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

Position Overview:

This position supports the machining of Main drive Shafts, Impeller Shafts and Gear which will later be assembled into Aircraft Fuel Pumps. Responsibilities include, Set up, maintain and operate CNC thread and surface grinders, manual O.D. grinders, I.D. grinder and honing machines.

Perform visual and precision dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5 and the certified operator program.

Assistance may be given to other operators on proper operational procedures.

Perform 5S and other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Perform set up, which includes selection, mounting, balancing and truing wheel, securing work holding device/work rotating device setting speeds, feeds and drive dogs.

• Work from operational sketches and blueprints to determine size and form. Where not given, select appropriate grinding wheel.

• Use a variety of mechanical and electronic precision measuring instruments to check size before, during and after operation.

• Majority of work consists of close tolerance grinding operations where quality finishes are necessary and frequent changes in set-up are required. Concentricity or run-out problems may be encountered, and work must be indicated before grinding.

• Set up and operate all equipment with minimum assistance and be familiar with the work procedures involved in grinding a large variety of parts. Changes in set-up, maintenance of close tolerances, and quality finishes require almost constant attention.

• Move material within the cell.

• Perform minor machine maintenance.

• Perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the supervisor.

• Burr work internal to the cycle as needed.

• Perform necessary part marking.

• Maintain accurate lot control traceability, record keeping, logbook entries, NCR’s and associated documentation according to QCP.

• Chart, plot and react to data per SPC requirement. Load and unload Datamytes.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• Minimum 3 years experience in the set-up AND operation of precision production CNC Machines

• Minimum of one year experience preforming machining operations requiring the use of Precision GD&T gaging and measuring techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with set-up and operation of Precision CNC ID and OD Grind Equipment. Included but not limited to Sunnen, Kellenberger, Studer and Drake.

• Experience with roll gages, micrometers, and comparators.

Position Criteria:

• Become a Certified Operator within 40 days of becoming active on the code.

• Complete an Eaton approved training program within 30 days.

• Pass an Eaton vision test.
