Fund Accountant

18 month Fixed Term Contract

Aon are currently recruiting a Fund Accountant to join our team. This is a Hybrid role with some weekly travel to Epsom required. The Fund Accountant will be primarily responsible for NAV oversight of our proprietary managed funds, developing and managing relationships with external service providers, including underlying managers, custodians and fund administrators.

DCS, also more generically known as fiduciary management, is a service offering developed by Aon for its pension scheme clients. It is delivered via an FCA authorised asset management business set up within Aon (AIL). Clients are invested in a range of Aon multi-asset class pooled funds, and / or segregated vehicles.

The team’s operations are constantly being shaped by regulatory requirements and internal initiatives. Accordingly, the role is uniquely positioned within the business, working in a demanding and dynamic environment.

Acting within the wider operations team, the role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain a first-hand look at the investment process, which assists in developing a holistic knowledge around the end-to-end investment and valuation process.

The role would be ideal for someone who is adaptable and flexible with a can-do attitude, looking for an opportunity to drive the development of a key functionality in a rapidly evolving, global business.

From day one, the successful candidate will take on the shared responsibility for a variety of functions both operational and managerial in nature.

Your impact as a Fund Accountant:

Being uniquely positioned within the business, the Fund Administration team works in a demanding and dynamic environment, providing a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast paced, multi-asset fund-of-funds management firm.

Specific tasks include, but will not be limited to:

  • Developing and managing relationships with external service providers, including underlying managers, custodians and fund administrators.

  • Calculation of the valuations of the funds and portfolios managed by AIL.

  • Reconciliations to the official books and records.

  • Oversight of client and fund transactions processing.

  • Assistance with regulatory reporting

  • Assistance with Audit queries.

  • Participation in departmental initiatives

  • Resolving ad-hoc requests.

Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

About you

Your knowledge and expertise:

  • Good team working skills;

  • Working directly with various internal and external stakeholders (custodians, fund accountants, sub-managers, for example);

  • Experience in fund accounting or a relatable field is highly desirable

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to translate analysis into client-friendly material;
