Actalent Electrical Engineer in Englishtown, New Jersey

Our client is a national electrical contractor seeking a talented Electrical Engineer with expertise in design build projects and extensive experience in charging station infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems for various projects, with a focus on charging station installations. The role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, knowledge of industry standards and regulations, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Job Description:

  • Load Calculations & Power Distribution within Building

  • Understanding Cost of Materials eg. wiring, EV charging panels, additional Services, internal/external

  • Conduct electrical design and engineering tasks for a variety of projects, with a focus on design/build initiatives.

  • Develop comprehensive electrical plans, specifications, and drawings in accordance with project requirements, codes, and standards.

  • Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit analysis to ensure electrical systems meet safety and performance criteria.

  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and clients to identify project objectives, constraints, and design preferences.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical systems, equipment selection, and installation methods.

  • Review and analyze construction documents, proposals, and specifications to identify potential issues and value engineering opportunities.

  • Prepare and present project proposals, estimates, and design recommendations to clients and stakeholders.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications, code requirements, and industry standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering, with a focus on design/build projects.

  • Experience with Electrical Contractor highly preferred

  • Estimating experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA, etc.).

  • Experience performing load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit analysis.

  • Familiarity with construction processes and building systems integration.
