Emerson Project Manager - Sourcing Operations in Elyria, Ohio

The Project Manager – Sourcing Operations is responsible using data-driven analysis and critical thinking to develop solutions for improving the efficiency of the Professional Tools Organization. The individual must be a diligent self-starter with the ability to lead multiple projects and work with both internal and external collaborators, as well as supplier partners.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Manage multiple projects from inception through receipt of first lot production by crafting project plans, developing timelines, identifying landmarks, devising contingency plans, and tracking performance. Hold internal / external collaborators accountable to implementation plan metrics for PTNA to realize uninterrupted material flow.

  • Implement tactical actions across multiple spend categories applying the proper medium, such as performing RFPs, conducting competitive tensioning, performing total cost of ownership analytics, and completing procurement system administration.

  • Direct a portfolio of sophisticated and wide-ranging initiatives involving multiple internal and external collaborators and functional leaders, while developing communication plans that keep team members advised.

  • Manages sourcing project finances beginning with project team feasibility studies, appropriation request cycle for tooling CapEx, tooling purchase process, project spending progression and summaries and general project financial management.

  • Represent the strategic focus area in various project governance and inter-department forums, including developing, executing, and supervising a Sustainable Sourcing Program in alignment with Emerson Corporate and Professional Tools.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with collaborators and business partners to drive strategic priorities and the corresponding regular updates on project prioritization, status, and changes.

  • Perform regular risk assessments for the initiatives within the portfolio and develop, communicate, and complete recovery plans.

  • Map existing information and process flows with the goal of streamlining processes within the department.

  • Act as a thought partner for business and functional leadership to introduce new tools, processes, and ideas that deliver business results.

  • Prepare, and talk to, management team project review meetings focusing on project metrics of incumbent supplier transition inventory management, tooling transfer / new tool construction progress, supplier PPAP and production timing, pricing changes, and plant readiness.

  • Drive actions that facilitate supply continuity by serving as a main interface for all sustaining products between the sourcing team and the organization.

  • Facilitate post mortem project meetings with collaborators and management team to improve sourcing performance

  • Other duties as assigned.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Six (6)+ years of supply chain experience in a high-paced, multi-location environment

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant subject areas; OR minimum of four (4) years of relevant proven experience instead of a Bachelor's degree

  • Professional, impartial, and independent demeanor with a high degree of integrity

  • Strong project management and team leadership skills with the ability to develop strong support, yield actionable responsibilities, supported by organizational change with all levels of internal and external organizations.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to digest and present sophisticated information and ideas clearly are essential

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their primary cost contributors

  • Applies value concepts of best cost, lead-time, risk mitigation and resource allocation during project lifecycles.

  • Ability to communicate and present at all levels with clarity and precision.

  • Periodic travel of 10% will be required

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or another related field
