International Facilities Maintenance Manager in Elmendorf, Texas

Position Overview

International Corporation, a leading North American truck manufacturer with great products, a strong market position and best-in-class distribution network, has an exciting new opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our Team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX just outside of San Antonio. The Facilities Maintenance Manager reports to the Site Chief Engineer and is responsible to plan and manage a $7 million maintenance budget as well as assisting with the management of the day-to-day operations of the 150-acre site with 350,000 sq ft of building space.

International's Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a Research and Development Facility as well as a support center for the San Antonio Manufacturing Plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. The Facilities department supports all departments on-site in the day-to-day operations and ensures that build and testing is not delayed due to site infrastructure or maintenance issues. This role will also be responsible for planning and executing site infrastructure capitals projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure facility and equipment is operational so that build/test operations can deliver on-time

  • Maintains daily operations of the physical facilities

  • Plans, schedules, and delegates performance of preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities

  • Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the Facilities Department

  • Plans, schedules, and delegates performance of equipment inspections daily, weekly, monthly, or annually depending on required schedule

  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion

  • Coordinates and supports safety organization to ensure compliance with all health and safety standards

  • Monitors scheduling of property-related inspections and coordinates with audit schedules to ensure efficiency of processes

  • Oversees compliance with all federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations

  • Responsible for all federal, state and local site-related reporting and compliance

  • Manages the design, planning, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and buildings and other facilities

  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs

  • Supports maintenance mechanics and facilities staff by performing “handyman” maintenance duties such as furniture moves, electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup

  • Coordinates and oversees outside contractors on building and equipment repairs

  • Operates site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary

  • Maintains documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram, space usage, etc.

  • May provide support to vendors/contractors such as security force, cafeteria, media relations

  • May assist in hosting corporate visitors/dignitaries

  • Other duties as assigned by site manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 8 years of facilities or administration experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 6 years of facilities or administration experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of facilities or administration experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of industrial facility systems

  • Experience planning, scheduling, and performing PM of facilities and equipment, i.e. hydraulic pumps, dyno, control systems, cooling tower, chiller systems, etc.Controls (PLC) experience.

  • Experience developing long-term plans for facility improvement, repairs, and financial planning

  • Ability to identify and mitigate facility risks, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of a workplace's occupants

  • Excellent project management and time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities including well developed written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience managing maintenance technicians

Highly preferred:

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
