ALLDATA LLC, the leading provider of automotive business solutions, is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join its Technology Infrastructure team.
Position Summary
As a member of an innovative and high-performing Linux infrastructure team you will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to our IT operations, product engineering, QA, and data service support teams. The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for servicing new and existing infrastructure, operating systems, security and application patching, participating in application and server modernization projects, maintaining monitoring systems, supporting compliance audit requests, and advocating for automation and application of industry best practices throughout the ALLDATA infrastructure.
Qualifications
The Linux Systems Administrator should possess 5+ years of hands-on experience directly related to following:
Extensive experience administrating Red Hat, Ubuntu, or any enterprise or community Linux platform, with minimal support, to include patching, package management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, networking, user management, and security
Advanced knowledge of application and server fault tolerance and load balancing services
Extensive experience with scripting in Bash or Python
In-depth experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
Experience with SAN/SCSI storage systems, network attached storage systems, NFS, CIFS (Windows and Samba)
Healthy understanding of ESXi & vCenter, Acropolis, VxRail, or any converged/hyperconverged system
Experience with Agile/Scrum and Kanban development methodologies
Experience writing documentation in clear, precise language
Good to have: experience with incident management, change control management, and problem management support processes and methodologies
Good to have: experience working with development tools including Git, GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins, CI/CD tools, and Jira
Good to have: experience with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Good to know: Docker and/or Kubernetes (or equivalent container orchestration systems); IaaS tooling such as Terraform
Job duties and desired skills
Maintain daily business operations and collaborate with team members to complete assigned Agile story work
Support internal customers’ server requests and problems by responding within ticket management system
Plan, design, configure, patch, test, automate, and implement system changes
Document processes, procedures, configuration settings and infrastructure design for business continuity and disaster recovery
Includes on-call activities in team rotation
Apply strong technical problem-solving skills daily
Be proactive with a focus on constant improvement and follow through at all levels
Demonstrate your ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities
Provide excellent oral and written communication
Analyze and troubleshoot server, application, and network issues.
Document, track and monitor technical issues to ensure timely resolution
Provide timely and thorough input for regular status reporting
Take ownership of issues, work independently, or escalate as needed, and find creative ways to resolve problems
Perform other duties and special projects as required or assigned
Salary: $94,000 - $165,000
Compensation Range (USD): MIN 94000.0 - MID 129000.0 - MAX 165000.0
