About the role:

Liquid I.V. is looking for a passionate Sr. Packaging Designer who loves being creative, but also has a keen eye for detail and technical skills to boot. This role will focus on developing packaging for our legacy products, new flavor innovations and special, limited time offerings. In addition, this role will work in collaboration with our Product Innovation team to develop unique, sustainable packaging solutions. This role will also create custom influencer box experiences and branded merchandise. This person will be in charge of checking down packaging proofs, color matching and running press checks.

This individual will regularly collaborate with the Creative, Brand, Sales and Operations Teams to ensure best in class packaging execution. The ideal candidate is obsessed with packaging, technical design, and the experience of the consumer. Must be incredibly detailed, organized, and eager to work in a quickly growing fast-paced company.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Conceptualize packaging for new product launches and limited-edition flavors.

  • Create all influencer packaging concepts and branded merchandise designs that continue to push the envelope and create buzz.

  • Update and maintain current packaging to ensure consistency across all products, flavors, and line extensions.

  • Oversee physical samples, proofing and press checks to ensure asset quality creation.

  • Have a keen eye for color and handle all packaging color matching.

  • Develop renderings to bring packaging and visual merchandising to life for approval.

  • Work directly with external contractors or agencies to ensure on-brand packaging completion as needed.

  • Positively influence brand perception and conversations through outstanding design.

  • Capable of quickly revising work based on internal feedback and performance results.

  • Exceptional packaging concepts and design skills with proven portfolio.

  • Able to communicate and articulate design concepts both visually & verbally.

  • Present packaging designs to internal leadership teams.

  • Interface with packaging manufacturers to communicate desired outcome of creative and lead thoughtful solutions that uphold brand aesthetic.

  • Be aware of marketing trends and help us break them. Promote fresh thinking and strategic storytelling to enhance our message and impact through visuals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in art/design preferred.

  • 6-10 years of general creative design experience required.

  • 4-5 years’ experience working directly for a CPG brand or within an agency focused on CPG brands preferred.

  • 4-5 years’ experience in developing product packaging and technical design of product packaging.

  • Strong understanding of materials, ink, and packaging process.

  • Must possess an ability to work quickly on tight deadlines while upholding the highest quality output with very strong multitasking abilities.

  • Expertise in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.

  • PDF and/or Online portfolio required.

  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong work relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams.

  • Multi-tasker capable of managing tight deadlines and last-minute changes.

  • Great attention to detail, with strong skill sets in typography and composition with a positive can-do attitude.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment with flexibility for industry events. Most responsibilities of this job will be handled from the office and up to 10% travel.

The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget.
