Job Summary: This is a 12-week program where interns will apply the knowledge and skills they've gained in the classroom by working alongside professionals at SunOpta. As an Internal Audit Intern for SunOpta, you will have an opportunity to perform Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) testing and assist with other Internal Audit special projects as assigned. You will develop and strengthen your skills and experiences in areas that are key to a successful career in Finance and Accounting, including business partnership, critical and analytical thinking, written/verbal communication, and project management. Essential Functions of the Job: Internal Audit Internship: Develops an understanding of the process being tested including key personnel, systems, strategies and objectives through interviews, documentation and observation. Executes testing steps to assess the adequacy of controls and process efficiency. Summarizes and presents learnings and audit results to Audit Manager. Assists with presenting audit results to Internal Audit management and business partners. Assists with completion of special Internal Audit projects, as assigned. Collaborates with team members to recommend solutions to enhance operations and strengthen controls. Manages time and prioritizes assignments to complete tasks within established timeframes. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be working towards a degree in accounting, finance or a related field. Candidates must be at least a sophomore in college and actively pursuing a degree. Graduate students will be considered. Ability to maintain confidentiality Proficient in MS Office applications Ability to work 30-40 hours per week Preferred Qualifications: Previous internship experience. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills. Additional Considerations: Travel: Travel may be required to various SunOpta locations for plant trials or other job-related functions. Location: This position will be located at our Corporate Office in Eden Prairie, MN. Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
