Michigan State University(MSU) Research Associate-Fixed Term in East Lansing, Michigan

Position Summary

A Research Associate (Post Doctoral) position in molecular immunology of sex differences is available in the lab of Dr. Adam Moeser in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences.

Selected individuals will join a diverse and highly interactive group of trainees and established scientists to lead NIH-funded research investigating the mechanisms driving sex differences in mast cells and other hematopoietic-derived immune cells and its link to susceptibility to later life inflammatory disorders including allergy/anaphylaxis, neurobehavioral disorders (anxiety/depression) and metabolic disease.

Applicants must have a doctoral or equivalent degree or be in the final stages of earning such a degree. Basic skills and knowledge base include following skill sets: molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, cell culture, microscopy, and mouse genetics. Preferred skills or knowledge include Ribotag mouse technology and cell isolation, epigenetics, mast cell biology, sex hormone biology, and stem cell biology. Individuals will have the opportunity to utilize a wide range of established technologies in the lab including in Cre-Lox models, optogenetics, RNA sequencing, organ physiology, and will have access novel translational large animal models. Individuals will be encouraged to develop grant proposal writing skills and will have frequent opportunities for professional development. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
