Position Summary

The Department of Psychology at Michigan State University is seeking to recruit a faculty member with expertise in Behavioral Neuroscience for a tenure system appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting in Fall of 2024. The ideal candidate will have established a strong program of research, a history of (or clear potential for) external funding, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in a) undergraduate and graduate teaching, and b) diversity, equity, and inclusion. While all applicants studying fundamental issues in Behavioral Neuroscience will be considered, applicants working in the general area of motivated behavior are especially encouraged to apply. The use of contemporary neuroscientific research methodologies is highly desirable. The candidate recruited for this position would join the highly collaborative, supportive, and productive Department of Psychology and the department’s Behavioral Neuroscience Graduate Program. They will also have the opportunity to affiliate with MSU’s interdepartmental Neuroscience Graduate Program. Required Degree

Doctorate -Behavioral Neuroscience or related field

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuroscience, or closely related field required by the date of hire.

Appropriate postdoctoral training in Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuroscience, or closely related field required by the date of hire.
