Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics in the College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor of Health Programs for a 12-month fixed term faculty position, with the intention of renewal after this period.

We currently have three office locations in the greater Lansing area, providing outpatient primary care to our community, while also teaching and precepting our medical students. Our inpatient responsibilities include well newborn care to our patients at a local hospital, while hospitalists and the Regional ICU and PICU provide care to our patients that are admitted to the hospital.

MSU is the only university in the country with on-campus medical schools graduating allopathic and osteopathic physicians, as well as nurses and veterinarians. In May 2022, the University accepted their first class to the new PA school. The faculty and staff at MSUCOM Department of Pediatrics are part of a collaborative healthcare delivery system that has earned an exemplary reputation for caring for children with complex healthcare needs. MSU HealthCare, along with other health care systems in the region, provide not only primary care to children in our area, but also include pediatric sub-specialist providers working together to meet th needs of our community.

When not providing direct patient care, our physicians work with the greater College and University community, including various committees, teaching responsibility for both medical students and residents, quality improvement practices and research opportunities. COM teaches first- and second-year students at its main campus in East Lansing, as well as campuses in Macomb and Detroit Medical Center. Our providers also serve as preceptors for the Sparrow Health System Pediatric Residency Program.
