Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the East Haven area, for a Staff Accountant. This role involves being part of our dynamic team, handling the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization. You will be working in a key position that includes ownership of various accounting responsibilities, maintenance of journal entries within the general ledger, and assistance with preparations for reporting, including the monthly close.

Responsibilities:

• Involved in the daily accounting activities of the organization.

• Ownership of various accounting tasks.

• Maintenance of journal entries within the general ledger.

• Assistance with preparations for the organization's reporting.

• Facilitate the monthly close process.

• Utilize skills in bank reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries.

• Assist in the month end close process.

• Ensure accurate record-keeping and conduct regular reviews for discrepancies.

• Handle financial data analysis and prepare reports accordingly.

• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial procedures and ensure financial compliance.

Requirements

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is required

• Experience with General Ledger management is essential

• Must have the ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems

• Must have strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
