Instructor of Economics Non-Tenure Track

The Department of Accounting and Finance in the John Massey School of Business at Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for the full-time, non-tenure track position of Instructor of Economics. The position, which is contingent on budgetary approval, will begin in the Fall 2024 semester.

The Instructor of Economics will teach twelve credit hours per semester, mentor students, and provide service to the department, school, university, and community. The Instructor will report to the Department Chair of Accounting and Finance. Summer teaching has historically been available. Remote work is available for this position.

Requirements for the Instructor position are a Masters degree in Business or Economics from an AACSB accredited university or eighteen hours of graduate courses in Business or Economics. Applicants should also have a proven record of quality teaching and a strong potential for and commitment to research. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The compensation package is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates must have attained Practice Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, Instructional Practitioner or Scholarly Academic status per AACSB requirements.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University, founded in 1909 as a teacher college, continues the strong tradition of producing outstanding educators for southeast Oklahoma and north Texas. Student enrollment on the campus(s) is approximately 5,500 and the campus is situated in rural Oklahoma. The main campus is located in Durant, Oklahoma, which is 80 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 150 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred start date is August 1, 2024 and may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
