About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for development of product design, providing support for manufacturing, and development of standards and internal procedures. This position is located in Duluth, GA and is not available for remote work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Engineering group with activities such as create schematics, bills of materials, detail drawings, and engineering changes. Developing product design from scratch (create solutions).

  • Provide guidance and support to manufacturing and other areas, regarding product requirements (drive collaboration).

  • Development and revision of standards, internal procedures.

  • Ensure product design meets requirements, quality expectations and timelines (think customer).

  • Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.

  • May direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems infield installations.

  • May specialize in specific area of discipline, such as electrical energy generation, transmission, and distribution systems; products, such as batteries, transformers, control devices, and relays; or area of work, such as manufacturing, applications, or installation.

  • Create material in SAP.

  • Release critical materials for purchasing.

  • Supervise sub-contractors- activities in order to make sure they are meeting project requirements.

  • Develop system concept and one-line diagrams.

  • Develop tools to help engineering and commercial team to size and select equipment included in our scope of supply.

  • May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

  • Provide support to our engineering team, making sure they are following the best practices to design our projects.

  • Interact with sub-suppliers seeking the best and optimum solutions for our packages, observing project budget / costs.

  • Provide site support during installation, startup and commissioning

  • Be the link between engineering and sales team, allowing WEG to submit technical offers that will meet project specifications.

  • Develop tools to allow commercial team to submit technical quotations.

  • Stay up to date with Battery technologies, supporting commercial team and recommending best solutions to be used in our projects.

  • Create a matrix of responsibility making sure all the parties involved in the project, including customers, suppliers and sub-contractors clearly understand their responsibility and scope of supply.

  • Maintain financial model Excel sheet making sure it is using updated information to provide accurate reports.

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Knowledge / training:

  • Experience with system integration.

  • Knowledge of power generation systems.

  • knowledge with batteries and associated equipment.

  • MS Office.

  • AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience is preferred.

  • Excel intermediate (using charts, graphs, fonts, borders, shading, formulas, tables, pivot etc).

  • SAP experience is preferred.

Experience:

  • +10 yrs. of experience integrating power generation systems, using transformers, low and medium voltage switch gears and panels, power converters, PLCs, HVAC systems, batteries, containerized solutions (power houses).
