The Physical Security team is organized within CO+I. Physical Security is dedicated to delivering the most trustworthy and efficient physical security services to protect the personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information foundational to the Microsoft Cloud. We are seeking a Sr. Security Initiatives Program Manager to help us grow our strong team of PM professionals. As a Program and Project Manager on our team, this role will partner with various internal and external teams, including regional Physical Security teams, Engineering, Datacenter Operations, suppliers, and customers to plan and execute on strategic security initiative projects that improve our physical security program.

The Program Manager must proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness. They must be able to scope problems, collaborate with subject matter experts to develop viable solutions, and prioritize appropriately while managing multiple concurrent projects across geographical and organizational boundaries. They must also act ethically, with a sense of personal accountability for end-to-end quality and completeness and demonstrate resilience in times of rapid growth and change.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned projects in accordance with established requirements, deadlines, and applicable employment law and company policy.

  • Confirm project requirements, collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute on the project charter.

  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality control activities.

  • Draft and send project communications and reports.

  • Ensure project related suppliers are compliant with all security controls, policies, and objectives.

  • Partner and collaborate closely with peer leaders and stakeholders, focused on maintaining a One Microsoftenvironment.

  • Continuously improve the efficiency and maturity of the overall physical security program.

  • Receive escalations and notifications of physical security and business impacting incidents and events and appropriately triage, ensuring that leadership is made initially and continuously aware as needed.

  • Collaborate with peer teams and organizations to ensure their team is aligned with broader strategy and initiatives, fully supporting leadership priorities, being good partners, helping reduce costs, time burden, and complexity, and being responsive trusted advisors.

  • Continuously seek data and recommend strategies and ideas to reduce churn, optimize, implement a creative solution to a problem, scale, automate, and simplify.

  • Engage with internal and external customers as appropriate to represent Microsoft’s datacenter physical security programs.

  • Draft and review contracts in partnership with suppliers, submit purchase orders, and approve invoices.

  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and protect Microsoft information.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND equivilant years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified

  • Proven capability to effectively engage with both business and technical engineering teams

  • Confident and skilled in preparing and delivering presentations and briefings to customers, senior leaders, and executives

  • Experience making and influencing good decisions that impact mission-critical, 24x7 operations environments

These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
