Role and Responsibilities

Avionic Design Engineer

Do you have a background in Avionics / aircraft electrical engineering and would like to join our growing Part 21 Design department?

CAE are presently accepting applications for Avionic Design Engineer role within our Part 21J Design department.

We have a position for engineer with Avionic/Electrical experience in Part 21, Technical Service departments or in Part 145. The successful candidate will join our highly experienced team and gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in serving our wide client base of leasing companies and airlines.

The Design Engineer will report to a Design Team Leader and will be responsible for production of EASA Part 21J design documents.

Position Responsibilities:

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that engineering documents comply with all applicable airworthiness and environmental protection requirements. The production of EASA Part 21 approved design documentation ensures the airworthiness of produced designs through:

  • Compilation of design documentation including accomplishment instructions, compliance reports and instructions for continued airworthiness.

  • Liaison with Compliance Verification Engineers in support of the showing of compliance for the applicable airworthiness and environmental protection requirements.

  • Project management of design changes.

Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of avionics.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of applicable aviation regulations including knowledge of EASA requirements.

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively act to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment and successful stress tolerance.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to develop and guide processes through to closure.

  • Demonstrate advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (CAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other proprietary software)

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and deal with multiple priorities and meet required deadlines.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Technical Degree (B.Eng, B.Sc) or EASA Part 66 qualification / Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence or equivalent.
