Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a luxurious beachside resort located on the west crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The interior of the resort is inspired by the ancient palaces of Turkey and features hand-painted finishing’s, Turkish artworks and stunning murals inspired by the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire.

About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has been arisen for a Finance Manager to join Jumeirah Zabeel Saray . The main duties and responsibilities of this role

  • To review and approve all the relevant support to a day’s transactions once verified by the Assistant Finance Manager.

  • To supervise the AFM & FA in all stages leading to the preparation of all monthly financial reporting and analysis.

  • To assist the Director of Finance in compiling budgets and forecasts and cash flow reports.

  • To manage the preparation of special statistical reports which may be required by management.

  • To manage the duties and responsibilities of all the accounting employees.

  • Ensure compliance with company finance directives and delegation of authority as well as all legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.

  • To deputize for the Director of Finance during his/her absence and to be fully acquainted with his/her Job Description in order to carry out those responsibilities.

  • To handle all problems of the accounting office with the exception of those which have to be referred to the Director of Finance.

  • To manage the duties and responsibilities of the accounting employees and supervise the preparation of all monthly financial reporting and analysis

  • To organize the accounting office in conjunction with the Director of Finance.

  • To distribute work to employees on an equitable basis.

  • To schedule and introduce flexible job functions through job rotation.

  • To ensure that all employees do understand fully and adhere to the property’s employee rules and regulations, as well as to the property’s policies relating to fire, safety and health.

  • To instruct employees on the correct standards and procedures and to handle their problems regarding their daily work.

  • To manage the hiring, training and appraisal of accounting personnel as part of the effort to build an efficient team and to take an active interest in their individual development and welfare.

  • Assists Department Heads in preparing for the month-end P & L, Forecast and annual Budget

  • Assists and advises on the controlling of Hotel expenses.

  • Maintain close communication with third parties such as the public auditors, external auditors, and local authorities.

  • Provide training in the hotels to enhance the financial skills of the Mid -Management Team as a whole. Be the "coach" to both the Hotel Finance teams and non-Financial Managers.

  • Support DOF to conduct detailed operational analysis and review with relevant stakeholders to optimize performance and deliver agreed financial targets to minimize variances versus budget and prior year, flow-through analysis, outlet menu engineering, profit margin analysis, manning structure, and payroll cost, etc.

  • Direct preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts; establish and/or recommend to management major economic objectives and policies for the hotel.

  • To supervise goods receiving, storage and issuing functions.

  • To maintain the stock of all Food & Beverage and General supplies and to set up and maintain par stocks as per consumption.

  • To coordinate purchase requests with SC&L for stores items ensuring sufficient lead-time is given.

  • To provide administrative support with particular emphasis on the legal, contractual and insurance areas of the operation.

  • To supervise the day-to-day operations of Stores and Goods Receiving.

  • To control the Fixed Asset systems i.e. the recording, classifying & tracking of fixed assets as well as handling the process of asset additions and generating monthly addition and depreciation reports.

  • Complete ad hoc requests when required.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Professional accounting accreditation such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA,CPA, CGMA, CMA

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is essential for this role.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Strong communication skills / previous experience of managing resort operations.

  • Had previous experience in managing Owner relations / working directly with asset managers / stakeholder management.

  • Good knowledge of ERP systems is an essential (Oracle, Sun, etc)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Finance & Accounting administration processes and policies in the Middle East

  • Experience in Finance within hospitality or customer service related industry (Hotel operation background highly regarded)
