Be a part of our team as a Head of Bid & Proposal Management in Dubai. You will lead and guide the bids & proposal team. Create winning proposals by analyzing tender requirements, preparing high-level overviews, coordinating with internal stakeholders, negotiating offers, and ensuring quality and performance throughout the bid and enquiry lifecycle.

What are my responsibilities?

Bid and Proposal Management

  • Lead and manage the bid and proposal department for all bids, from the commencement of enquiry to acceptance of the award and subsequent handover to the allocated projects team.

  • Analyse customers’ requirements, i.e. tender requirements, and prepare high-level overviews and associated planning in close coordination and alignment with the relevant BHS/MHS Bid Managers to achieve the required and desired level of quality and performance throughout the bid and enquiry lifecycle.

  • Lead internal and external key meetings and provide clear feedback and summaries of required outcomes and actions.

  • Prepare and deliver Sales Presentations both internally and externally, and participate in the offer negotiation/post-tender clarifications.

  • Take an active role as overall Bid Manager on major proposals.

  • Communicate and articulate findings from data of various levels within organizations to internal and external stakeholders.

Stakeholders Management

  • Work actively with Internal departments such as Procurement, Project Execution, Planning, Engineering and Customer Service to ensure a smooth and seamless process during the bid.

  • Capture relevant project data, such as sold vs. built comparisons that are recorded appropriately, and create a catalogue of historical data and document lessons learnt for implementation on future proposals.

  • Effectively hand over projects to the nominated PM and provide support when required.

  • Manage and assist with any variation claims as and when applicable.

Regional Collaboration and Communication with HQ

  • Prepare and ensure a satisfactory level of global collaboration on large-scale projects in the ME region and support other regions with Technical Bid expertise as and when appropriate to foster the global targets of the SL organization.

  • Actively approach and steer knowledge share and knowledge base development to improve customer offerings and hit rate through lessons learnt from global market development and competitive environment.

  • Lead feedback and coordination with Sales and Engineering Heads in SD (ME), SL HQ Bid Management (and other regional teams), and R&D and PLM teams regarding the technical development, market and project requirements.

  • Challenges of current product range and coordination for field tests and trials of new product range.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • More than 10 + years of Bid Management/Proposals experience in Airport Logistics (Baggage/Cargo Systems).

  • Engineering background or comparable qualified education preferred.

  • Solid background in tendering process/bidding proposals with exposure to project negotiation.

  • Strong experience as a team leader, imparting knowledge and mentorship to others whilst being a key contributor on an individual level.

  • Team builder with excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to instill a positive team atmosphere, and ability to take responsibility and resolve conflicts confidently and objectively.

  • Strong experience in working within and handling multinational and diversified teams.

  • Fluent in English both (written & verbal) with Arabic and/or German being an advantage.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders/management.

  • Proactive and goal-oriented to deliver the highest quality standards, even under time and success pressure.

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.

  • Strong business acumen demonstrated, including business case development, strong rhetorical skills, natural teaming and collaboration skills, and achievement-oriented.
