Responsible for providing leadership and broad strategic direction for various clinical and strategic areas / functions. Responsible for establishing and operationalizing member and provider facing strategies that drive quality and affordability outcomes within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and across business units. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Provide high level oversight, leadership and direction for multiple clinical and strategic functions, initiatives and / or processes. * Develop and refine clinical strategy relating to the member and provider experience; owns provider related initiatives related to care model development & deployment / evolution such as Dual-Special Needs Program (D-SNP). * Provide clinical and operational expertise and initiative ownership for Physician Group Incentive Program, Collaborative Quality Initiatives, Blueprint for Affordability risk-based contracting and Care Delivery strategies. * Maintain and grow relationships across business units and product lines for the purpose of enabling expanding the clinical footprint across the enterprise. * Own relationships with critical professional organizations and agencies throughout the region, such as Michigan State Medical Society and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. * Provide clinical leadership for various quality reporting mechanisms / programs - such as NCQA HEDIS and Medicare Star ratings - and ownership for related provider led initiatives and programs. "Qualifications" * Doctorate from an accredited school of medicine (M.D.) or osteopathy (D.O.) required. * Ten (10) year's recent clinical experience in area of specialization plus utilization review experience. * Current unrestricted state of Michigan doctor of medicine (M.D.) or doctor of osteopathy (D.O.) license. * Board certified or board eligible and working towards certification in a specialty approved by the American * Board of Medical Specialists or the American Board of Osteopathy. * Knowledge of BCBSM, providers, services and facilities. * Strong teaching and communication skills. * Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
