Robert Half VP of Research & Development in Denver, Colorado

Description

A client of ours at Robert Half is looking for a VP of Research and Development to oversee the organizations Development, QA, and DevOps teams. This will not be a very hands-on role and will be more so focused on leadership/oversight, to lead through technical debt, new development, structuring, and overall software development lifecycle. This is a fully remote position and is open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S. The client is a software company that specializes in the fitness membership industry.

Requirements

Must haves:

  • 10+ years of development experience with .NET or Java

  • Will be more leadership/oversight to lead through technical debt, new development, structure, software lifecycle (focused on vision and direction vs. hands-on technical)

  • 8+ years of managing staff and projects

  • 5+ years of designing, building, & deploying software solutions on AWS

  • AWS - EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS (they are hybrid cloud)

  • Working knowledge of relational Databases (SQL, MySQL)

  • Experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as code, and automation tools

Nice to haves:

  • Understanding of payment processing and compliance implications

  • Cloud migration and modernization

  • Performance testing, analysis, & tuning

  • Security monitoring, penetration testing, and static code analysis

  • Alternate databases like Redis, Elastic, RedShift

  • Cloud based hosting & cost optimization
