Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for managing discipline resources to meet discipline goals. This position is key in maintaining and improving employee satisfaction and effectiveness, and quality and timeliness of deliverables within a discipline. This position is responsible for overall discipline efficiency and allocation of resources within a discipline. The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Professional Surveyor to join our team as a Survey Discipline Leader. This individual will work closely with Woolpert sector leaders in Buildings, Infrastructure, and Geospatial to ensure the firm has the optimal number of employees with the necessary skills to staff projects globally. The Survey Discipline Leader is responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, mentoring, and supervising survey Team Leaders. Additionally, they will develop team goals and structures that are aligned with corporate objectives, identify cost-saving opportunities, manage project finances effectively, and shape discipline strategies. Key Responsibilities: Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and supervise survey Team Leaders. Develop team goals and structures aligned with corporate goals and vision. Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage project finances effectively. Shape market strategies, gaining hands-on experience in brand development and positioning. Meet yearly market goals aligned with vision, strategy, structure, and staffing. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members. Provide guidance and support to team members throughout project lifecycles. Manage Survey, GIS, mobile lidar, and UAS Team Leaders across the United States. Manage a diverse group of over 125 technical experts, including land surveyors, GIS technicians, mobile lidar teams, and unmanned aerial systems teams. Tailor teams to meet clients' unique needs to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Manage deliverable quality and implement standard operating procedures. Project management, including developing project plans, budgeting, scheduling, implementing QA/QC measures, creating proposals, and maintaining client relations. Experience in geodetic leveling, topographic, hydrographic, cadastral/boundary, subsurface utility engineering, deformation monitoring, as well as terrestrial, mobile, UAS, and airborne Lidar. Technology deployment, implementation, and deliverable development. Maintain and manage equipment and fleet budgets. Collaborate with industry-leading geospatial hardware and software manufacturers to ensure Woolpert remains on the cutting edge when deploying the latest in geospatial technology. Safely and effectively coordinate projects in complicated field sites. Manage discipline wide KPIs, including net revenue, utilization, and budget dollar variance

Qualifications

Must be a licensed professional surveyor. Proven experience in surveying and project management. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in relevant surveying technologies and software. Must have a BA/BS and eight (8) years related experience, MA/MS and six (6) years related experience or 1 years related experience. Must be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the positions. Must demonstrate a proactive management approach. Must have above average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships. Must demonstrate leadership ability (directing, delegating and coaching). Must have Microsoft Office suite skills. Must be able to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to analyze and evaluate multiple project components, schedules and budgets. Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with clients, vendors, management and associates. Must possess negotiation, conflict management and problem solving skills.
