Oracle Principal Security Architecture Specialist in Denver, Colorado

Job Description

Reviews networks, applications, systems, infrastructure, environments, and security systems, ensuring designs and implementations align with Oracle information security policies, processes, and standards.

Proposes technical architectures for security risk and identifies security controls to mitigate those risks.

Operates independently to provide internal consultation and subject matter expertise for the design and development of secure architectures.

Evaluates (at an advanced level) security architecture that may include design assessment, risk assessment, threat modeling and code review.

Guides design for toolsets to implement security controls and monitor the security of networks, systems and applications.

May identify and prioritize security design issues and vulnerabilities.

Provides advanced level advice on data security issues, compliance, and privacy requirements.

Conducts security research regarding threats and vulnerabilities.

May provide advanced troubleshooting of issues around security platforms.

May mentor and train other staff members.

Responsibilities

Minimum of 8 years related experience in an information security role, supporting security programs and security engineering/architecture in complex enterprise environments, including cloud. Hands on experience with enterprise security architecture, engineering and implementation required.

Experience with compliance programs and security control sets such as ISO 27001, SOC1, SOC2, HITRUST, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMP, as applied to cloud SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and on-prem environments.

Familiarity with SDLC principles, DevSecOps, and scripting & programming languages (such as Terraform, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.).

Strong knowledge of Cloud architecture and security principles, risk management frameworks, and Linux and Windows system administration.

Proficiency and comfort in taking unclear, loosely defined concepts and transforming them into defined requirements and actionable plans.

A team-first orientation while excelling in independent work.

Preferred but not required qualifications include:

Bachelor-level university degree in a relevant field from an accredited university or equivalent professional certifications.

Strong knowledge of web technologies, middleware, database, OS, firewalls, network communication protocols and methods.

Knowledge of database security principles.

Knowledge of encryption technologies and architectures.

Advanced experience in evaluating and assessing security threats across a variety of environments and industries.

Understanding of secure networking principles, routers, switches, and load balancers.

Demonstrable experience in developing secure, scalable cloud architectures and distributed systems.

Experience with high-level software design and development and the design, use, and deployment of automation and orchestration frameworks.

Demonstrable scripting or programming experience.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience.

US: Hiring Range: from $109,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
