Shift: Nights (7PM - 7AM)

Pay Rate: $32.97 – $35.94

Job Description

As an Electronic Technician, you are responsible for preforming routine maintenance on equipment, installing various types of new equipment as well as machinery control and instrumentation. Qualified candidates will also be able to make repairs to electrical power, motor, and motor control circuits.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routine maintenance including but not limited to field fault analysis, calibration of instrumentation using proper test equipment, component replacement, alignment, and calibration to specification.

  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to isolate faulty equipment or components and determine the root cause of failures.

  • Troubleshoot and repair various equipment to include pneumatic, electronic, digital equipment and AC/DC motors.

  • Fault analysis of hard-wired relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (120V to 480V 3 phase) and common utility/lighting circuits.

  • Replacement of identified failed parts or components.

  • Adjust equipment to bring it into operational specifications.

  • Install complicated conduit systems and perform 15KV cable splicing.

  • Utilize all maintenance and supply programs as determined by management.

  • Recommend process or procedure changes based on observed equipment behavior.

  • Testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, and voltmeters to ensure proper operation and safety of system.

  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.

  • Maintain current and accurate maintenance data to determine establish historical records and future maintenance requirements.

  • Installation of new equipment and machinery control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested to include commissioning new drives and PLC s.

  • Connect to a PLC/Drive using a laptop, go online with the PLC/Drive program and determine if any faults exist, interpret the PLC ladder logic, and make minor adjustments as needed.

  • Observe Southwire s safety rules, maintain good housekeeping, and perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma, or equivalent, is required. Technical school degree preferred.

  • One (1) to three (3) years relevant experience with industrial maintenance preferred.

  • Must pass company maintenance assessment testing.

PHYSICAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of working safely in an industrial maintenance environment which includes walking, standing, climbing, crawling, kneeling/stooping, carrying/lifting 45lbs, pushing/pulling 50lbs, heat/cold, heights/elevated platforms, dust/fumes/gases/chemicals, loud noise, using power tools and heavy equipment, and wearing personal protective equipment.
