We are now hiring a safety coordinator to join the team at our corporate location!Located at 24862 Elliott Rd., Defiance, OH 43512*. If you're looking for long-term employment with a company you can grow with, this is the position for you!

Looking for someone who will encourage employee engagement and promote a safe work environment. Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations needed. You will be responsible for acting as administrator of the food safety and general safety policy and procedure, as well as audit facilities to ensure a high level of standard performance.

Must pass a drug screen and a criminal background check prior to employment.

*Hours: *Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or a similar schedule within operating hours)

Job Overview:

  • Supervise multi-location safety inspection/risk analysis for all facilities to identify recognized safety hazards/loss exposures.
  • Participate in accident investigations to identify the cause and recommend solutions for reduce or eliminate risks/hazards.
  • Promote and implement a positive, proactive safety and food safety culture.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supervise multi-location safety inspection/risk analysis services for all facilities to identify recognized Safety hazards/loss exposures.
  • Provide guidance to employees and leaders regarding ongoing training, safety awareness, and interventions to improve safety in the workplace.
  • Actively participate in accident investigations to identify root cause and generate recommendations to reduce risk or eliminate hazards utilizing Keller Corrective Action System.
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, and Audits to reduce risk.
  • Serve as administrator for review and update of safety and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Aide in the development, and maintenance of all safety related materials to be used for training and promotion of general safety standards in operations.
  • Serve as the backup Safe Quality Food Practitioner and support all SQF Audits.
  • Promote and implement a positive proactive safety culture and food safety culture.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What we're looking for:

  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations to address moderate to highly complex health/Safety issues
  • Knowledge of training techniques, laws, codes, and regulations pertaining to environmental health and Safety
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and GFSI standards
  • Ability to function in a team-based environment
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions and take appropriate action
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast paced and changing environment

Additional Qualifications and Experience:

  • Requires a broad body of knowledge of OSHA standards with three or more years of safety responsibilities.
  • Experience of knowledge of SQF standards preferred.
  • Have or obtain PCQI and HACCP certification
  • Have or obtain OSHA 10 and OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Have or obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certification.

Work environment:

Work is normally performed in an interior/office work environment.

Must be willing to travel to other facilities with little to no notice.

Up to 15-20% travel to support routine safety activity at sites around the USA.
