This is a full-time, exempt position.

Position Summary:

ADM is seeking a GT Installations Support Manager I to lead our dynamic Global Technology (GT) team in Decatur, IL. This leadership role is pivotal in planning, executing, and overseeing the deployment of structured cabling systems and network infrastructure across our global locations, encompassing both manufacturing and office environments. The GT Installations Support Manager I ensures that all projects—from conception to completion—adhere to our ADM company and TIA and ISO standards. Key responsibilities include managing the installation, planning, and supervision of structured cabling work, vendor collaboration, cross-functional team management for global project rollouts, and overseeing the build-out of copper and fiber optics infrastructure, server rooms, RF handheld devices, PCs, televisions, conference rooms, LAN, and WLAN deployments and their support.

This role demands a hands-on approach to project management and daily tasks, maintaining our business and process networks to support manufacturing locations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in network infrastructure and project management, ideally holding or knowledge in BICSI and RCDD certifications, along with CTS, CFOT, DCIC certifications. This leadership position focuses on enhancing cross-functional team collaboration within GT, manufacturing IT, and automation teams, optimizing GT's project management processes, and supporting key ADM initiatives like BIG Rocks and Industry 4.0/Project Aurora.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of structured cabling and network infrastructure projects, including LAN and WLAN deployments, ensuring they meet TIA and ISO standards. This includes the installation of fiber optics, server rooms, and managing day-to-day GT setups, aligning with ADM’s strategic goals such as BIG Rocks, Industry 4.0/Project Aurora, and 1ADM initiatives.

  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring quality products and services across global projects and manufacturing (MFG) infrastructure projects. This includes oversight of contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with project timelines and ADM’s standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration within GT, OT, and automation teams to support ADM's business and process networks. Work closely with GT peers, business stakeholders, external partners, and MFG support teams to ensure a unified approach and integration of “Connected factory floor” solutions.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, including ticket flow and team communication, to ensure alignment with the GT Operating Model. Partner with the support teams to manage special requests, projects, and high-level work order requests, ensuring timelines and schedules are met for all facilities.

  • Technical Leadership and Support: Provide technical leadership and support for GT issues, including advanced WAN/LAN cabling installation/design, wireless design, installation, troubleshooting, and support of warehouse management systems like handheld scanners, Zebra printers, and networked timeclock hardware.

  • Team Development and Knowledge Sharing: Lead by example in maintaining a positive work environment through teamwork and conflict resolution. Offer mentorship and guidance to GT support team members, including training for new or junior team members. Share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness improvements within Global GT MFG support.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Be accountable for MFG project implementation transitions to the proper support organizations through thorough documentation and knowledge transfer. This includes advanced knowledge of order and inventory applications for managing work and trouble tickets.

  • Quality and Compliance Assurance: Contribute to the optimization of GT’s project management processes and standards. Ensure all installations and technical support activities adhere to Print Smart guidelines and ADM’s quality standards.

  • Proficient in: Wireless WAN/LAN design, installation, and troubleshooting, with the ability to perform, delegate, and monitor the ordering, configuring, installing, replacing, and troubleshooting of networked timeclock hardware, fork truck mounted warehouse management computers, Zebra printers, and handheld scanners for warehouse management systems. This includes providing support for new users, PCs, or physical locations, as well as overseeing printer and peripheral installations based on Print Smart guidelines, headset installs, moves, adds, changes, and other general tasks as assigned for locations and MFG facilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in network infrastructure projects, with a focus on installation, project management, structured cabling, fiber optics, server room setups, and network deployments.

  • Proven ability to lead global project rollouts in a diverse, multicultural environment, with a strong portfolio of successful, large-scale projects.

  • Preferred knowledge in structured cabling and possible certifications in BICSI, RCDD, CTS, CFOT, and DCIC, reflecting specialized knowledge and a commitment to professional development.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, external partnerships, and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • A commitment to upholding TIA and ISO cabling standards

  • A bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.

  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions, alongside availability for on-call duties and willingness to travel as required.

  • Demonstrated excellence in independent and team work, showcasing superior time management, analytical, and organizational skills.

Working conditions:

  • Extended periods of sitting and keyboard operations may be required.

  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be necessary during system outage windows.

  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required.

  • Must be located within a 45-minute commute of the Decatur, IL area.

  • Occasional air travel may be required for business needs.
