Description
Looking to take the next step in your accounting career? Check out this fantastic opportunity for a Staff Accountant through Robert Half at a dynamic firm in the Health Pharm/Biotech industry. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This New Jersey based firm has a long-term contract / temporary position available and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.
Key responsibilities
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience with account reconciliation
Demonstrate knowledge of SAP
General ledger experience
Adeptness in Bank Account Reconciliation
Journal entries experience
Command of Month-end Close Activities
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
