Eaton Corporation HR Director, Mission Systems Division in Davenport, Iowa

Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking an HR Director to join our team. This position is a hybrid work model based at Eaton’s Davenport, IA location. Relocation assistance is offered for this role.

Position Overview:

This position leads the Human Resources function for the Mission Systems Division (MSD) business within Aerospace, which includes $700M+ in revenue, 4 primary manufacturing facilities and 2,000 employees in the US and UK. The HR Director will develop, implement and validate Human Resources strategies, initiatives and programs aligned with short and long-term business plans. They will also foster a culture in the organization that promotes making work exciting, engaging and meaningful. This position reports directly to the SVP/GM of the business and functionally to the Aerospace HR leader.

Essential functions include:

• Lead the division’s HR team – 17+ in the US and UK. You will be a key member of the MSD division leadership team and will partner with the division leadership team, functional leaders and site leaders to ensure human resources programs and initiatives are aligned with strategic and annual business objectives.

• Coach and influence leaders to improve performance and leader effectiveness while fostering a culture of manager ownership and accountability of the employee life cycle.

• Drive the Eaton Business System across the division, fostering employee engagement through an inclusive culture focused on safety, customer focus and continuous improvement / learning. Ensure positive employee relations to provide an optimal and inclusive work environment for all employees as well as ensure effective labor relations.

• Build organizational capability through ownership of talent management processes including acquisition, assessment, performance management, employee development, succession planning and retention. Facilitate talent reviews to assess pipeline strength, determine development focus areas or gaps in the organization and implement necessary actions.

• Manage and develop employee compensation, reward and recognition programs, while ensuring alignment to corporate policy.

• Work with site managers and local HR talent to deploy communication plans and utilize assessment tools (e.g. the employee survey) to identify organizational issues and drive action plans.

• Lead and coach others to utilize effective change management tools.

• Facilitate a culture where best practices are retained and shared across the Human Resources organization and benchmark industry and local best practices to set stretch performance targets

• Provide guidance to leaders regarding policies, practices, laws and regulations to ensure compliance with local and governmental regulatory requirements.

• Anticipated travel: 25%

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required

• Minimum seven (7) years of experience with increasing responsibility in a progressive HR environment

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience leading the HR function for manufacturing operations

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and/or HR certification.

• Prior experience with labor relations and leading global teams.

• Prior experience with acquisitions & integrations.

​The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
