Sabre Senior Accountant - Fixed Asset in Dallas, Texas

As part of a large global accounting team, you will be responsible for the accounting related to various aspects of Sabre Head Quarter’s businesses. In this position, you will have the opportunity to interact with a broad and diverse group that includes Finance, Business Ops, Real Estate, Internal Audit and our External auditors. This position will handle accounting for fixed assets with a focus on capitalized labor .

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

  • Completion of month-end close process, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts & resolving related issues

  • Review and track capitalized projects including capex assessment, prior period adjustment analysis, placing asset under construction in service, and assisting with write-offs and other updates as needed.

  • Prepare monthly fixed assets reporting and ad-hoc reports as required.

  • Prepare investment plan memo for internal use software & capitalized implementation costs and impairment analysis for fixed assets and right of use assets.

  • Assist with preparing and maintaining Master Lease Schedule, reconciliation, rollforward and record lease entries on a quarterly basis.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors in their quarter/ annual audits as well as supporting SOX certification process

  • Reviews financial data for accuracy; identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations

  • Standardize accounting policies and procedures and evaluating areas for process improvement

  • Participate / lead testing with fixed asset SAP integrations for acquired entities

  • Research technical accounting issue

  • Cross train on other functional areas as needed

  • Perform special projects as needed.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor degree required (Masters preferred)

  • CPA or parts passed preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience, 2 years public accounting preferred

  • E-commerce or travel industry experience a plus

  • Experience with accounting for internal-use software and ASC 842 lease accounting a plus

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Specific skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint

  • SAP financial systems experience a plus

General skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal

  • Candidate must be detail oriented and accurate with good mathematical, analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively & efficiently within given timelines

  • Detail-oriented with both the ambition and willingness to dive into the details necessary to accomplish responsibilities and solve problems.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
