Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Dallas, Texas

Description:

This position is the primary technical interface between Engineering, Quality and Production. They are the subject matter expert regarding production processes and quality standards to ensure efficient production flows and timely resolution to all issues and questions. They will use Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations to further continuous improvement objectives, leveraging proven Lean principles. They are data driven and use data and its analysis to develop focus on improvements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary liaison between the Assembly Group and Engineering Groups. Must be able to facilitate efficient issue resolution between the groups.

  • Reviews issues during builds and create solutions, either design or process based, to those issues to prevent recurrence.

  • Maintain “Redline” document status through the process until its incorporation into design data.

  • Compilation and Analysis of defect data to focus efforts on continuous improvement projects.

  • Develop and implement design and process changes focused on improving efficiency, reducing cost and reducing defects.

  • Participate in the design process to provide expert insight regarding Design for Manufacture/Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) and help ensure and establish overall cost targets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a production environment while implementing/maintaining ISO 9001 (minimum) or AS9100 (preferred), IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards.

  • Completion of quality-related courses such as problem-solving methods, Root Cause investigations, etc.

  • Demonstratable experience with Lean Manufacturing Implementation and results

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Experience reading assembly and fabrication drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs)

  • Detail orientated and data driven decisions with a strong sense of urgency.
