Independently responsible for producing technical project plans, specifications, drawings, equipment selections and models that meet Jacobs specifications and client needs. Independently responsible for creating, influencing, and finalizing designs and calculations involving industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC ducting, exhaust, wastewater discharge, and other mechanical building systems. Work with senior engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems. Coordinate needs, designs, and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (electrical, structural, process / chemical, architectural, etc.) for design package needs. Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction. Devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate changes to the team. Responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline. Have an understanding of standard mechanical and plumbing codes like ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Plumbing Code (IPC) and other codes and standards as required for the projects. Complete RFIs, submittal reviews, change orders and other Construction Administration (CA) related work as required.

Here’s what you’ll need :

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and 36 months of work experience in job offered or related occupation.

Special Skills or Other Requirements:

Expertise/ knowledge of: Sizing HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems. AutoCAD, REVIT, Caesar II, PipeFlo, Fathom, Trace 700, Trace 3D Plus. Mission critical projects. ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Plumbing Code (IPC).

Must have Professional Engineer (PE) License.
